The West Linn Rucking Renegades Girls High School Rugby team started its program in 2003.
Starting with only 11 players, the team’s first season was a huge success as they finished in the top four in the state.
During the 2004 season, the team grew, both in numbers of players and excitement.
The team, now armed with veteran players with one year of experience, competed well with other teams in the state.

In an exciting state tournament, West Linn won their first state championship. The state title earned a spot in the Pacific Northwest Regional Championships. After competing well, West Linn earned a berth to the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) in Sacramento, CA. At the NIT, the West Linn girls had a great run and finished fifth in the country.
The team exploded in 2005 and fielded an active roster of 45 girls. With both an “A” and a “B” side, the team dominated the state competition. Going undefeated in the regular season, the team won their second consecutive state championship. In the Pacific Northwest Regional Championships, West Linn became the first team from Oregon, boys or girls, to defeat a team from Washington. Earning their second consecutive invitation to the NIT, West Linn advanced to the consolation game final for third place. In dramatic fashion, the West Linn girls won on the last play of the game to finish third in the country!

The team’s philosophy is simple: Go forward—in offense, defense and life. We are the Renegades
We ruck and we groan
We leave blood on the field
And we bruise to the bone.
We strip balls
And straight arm tackles,
We use our cleats to win every battle.
We came here to win,
So you better stay clear.
We are the Renegades
We play with no fear!
